segovia saturday

today i had the pleasure of making a trip back to segovia -- and a cheap one, at that -- to visit sole and ernesto with my old housemate, lauren. am frankly a bit exhausted so will stick to posting pictures at the moment instead of writing (will come later, but mis pobres dedos están fatigados), but a few things of note for now (mainly so i don't forget):

- sole was very impressed with my spanish and thinks i should move on to a third language; i was impressed with her homemade paella and thought she should move back to madrid with me
- mothra was brought up immediately after we all exchanged greetings. she's referred to as la morada (trans: crazy purple girl) and they are very happy to know that she is currently working in a restaurant after dropping out of college

- need to look up different potential meanings of picasso's guernica based on hometown -- one woman i talked to at lunch from the north -- near galicia, specifically -- said that she hated it, the way picasso painted it was untrue, and that prevailing interpretations are insulting.

anyhow, a few pictures. still unreasonably obsessed with cathedrals.

  1. Mothra was avant garde, incapable of being incarcerated by conventional thinking.
